Conditions Assessed & Treated

Acute and chronic neck pain

This can be associated with or without headaches, referral pain into the forearm and hand or shoulder pain. Patients can expect a thorough clinical assessment to identify the cause of the dysfunction and a tailored rehabilitation plan will be provided. These conditions are often linked to posture, whiplash, falls, sporting injuries, disc or facet dysfunction which can be acute or ongoing over years.
Management will include a clear diagnosis, manual treatment, dry needling, strength and movement retraining. As patients progress through their plans, they should notice a reduction in symptoms, improved sleep, and better ability to move their neck freely.

Shoulder pain with/out scapular dyskinesis

Shoulder pain can be found in the front, side or back area with occasional referral pain into the arm and fingers. It may be due to wear and tear over the years from pulling and dragging or acute such as from dislocations or falls. There is often associated scapular (shoulder blade) dysfunction or dyskinesia which exacerbates the functional control of the shoulder. We will assess for rotator cuff tears, labral tears or movement dysfunction, providing a structured plan to improve the shoulder scapular movement dynamics looking at the rotator cuff complex, scapula, global trunk and shoulder muscles.
